Midphase has what I would consider to be an unethical business practice. After the 14 day trial period, if you cancel your account, you get none of your money back. If you do not cancel your account prior to your renewal date and you cancel after your credit card is charged again, you will not get your money back.
Most reputable hosting companies will refund unused hosting fees (not creation fees) if you leave them. Make sure you find a host that will refund your money if you have to leave. Or find a host that will let you pay month to month to avoid this potential hassel.
Midphase will under no circumstances give you a refund after 14 days unless their service has become completely unreliable.
Midphase have always had a good reputation within the hosting community for providing good quality services with reliable support. This was our main reason for chosing them. So far they have stood up to their reputation. We did notice slow servers for a couple of days a week or so after we had signed up, but this appears to have been sorted out now. All in all a very pleasent experience so far.
